I hope to see you in the course!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Information<\/span>:<\/strong><br \/>\nPhilosophy 200 satisfies the critical thinking requirement for transfer to the CSU and UC systems. While this is an online course, several sections are taught on campus each semester by excellent instructors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Since this is an online course, there are two considerations to keep in mind. First, if you do not have reliable, regular internet access, you should not take this course. Second, this course will require that students be self-directed and motivated. If you have trouble meeting self-imposed deadlines and working independently, you should consider enrolling in one of the on-campus sections of this course instead.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">If you&#8217;re not sure you&#8217;re ready for an online course.\u00a0You should take a look at this website:\u00a0<a title=\"http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/areyouready\/\" href=\"http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/areyouready\/\">http:\/\/www.palomar.edu\/areyouready\/<\/a>.\u00a0That may help you decide if you are ready.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>The Textbook:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nWe will be using the following book.<\/p>\n<p>Larry Wright, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Critical Thinking: An Introduction to Analytical Reading and Reasoning<\/span> (Oxford University Press).<\/p>\n<p>The first edition of the book was published in 2001. ISBN: 0195130332.<\/p>\n<p>The second edition was published in late 2012. ISBN: 019979622X<\/p>\n<p>You may purchase\/rent\/use either edition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><strong>Lastly:<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nThis is an enjoyable, though challenging, course.
