TOTAL POINTS                                                        ________/ 900

To determine your final grade, total your points and see where your total places you on the scale located above.

To calculate your grade at any time during the semester, divide the points you have so far, by the total possible points so far.  The figure you get is the percent of the total, and your grade is based on a normal grading curve.  [90% and above = A; 80-90% = B;  70-80% = C;  60-70-% = D;  Below 60% = F]  To ensure the accuracy of your course grade, it is your responsibility to have a point total which you can compare to the professor’s point total on the last day of the semester.  The Instructor will post all scores on the course website grade book. Contact the professor immediately if there is a discrepancy between your score and the posted score.

Missed Exams: If you know in advance that you will not be able to take an exam as scheduled, you may arrange to take the exam up to one week PRIOR to the date scheduled.  No make-up exams will be given unless 1) you make every effort to contact the instructor prior to the exam and 2) you document in writing the extenuating circumstances (e.g. family emergencies, illness, accidents, etc.) that necessitated your missing the exam.  A note from your doctor must document illnesses. The instructor retains the prerogative to subtract 10 or more points from a late exam. Late exams must be made up within one week of the date for which the exam was originally scheduled.
