During WWI The Netherlands were neutral and offered a refuge for many people and during WWII the area I lived in saw a lot of action. We my parents and grandparents were liberated by Canadian forces. Only 2 hours south in the Ardennes the Battle of The Bulge took place. I have always loved history because I lived among so many of its remnants. I chose to teach history because I love telling the stories of our common human journey.

Rolduc Abbey, Kerkrade Netherlands

Education:

University of California, San Diego.
